North Defence makes strong statement on production readiness for British Army requirement

North Defence has released details and images of its comprehensive new production facility in Elland, West Yorkshire, alongside its significant growth in the military light mobility vehicle (LMV) space – alongside the British Army’s commencement of its well-publicised procurement task to replace the iconic Army Land Rover Defender with a modern, battlefield-proven replacement.

Originally founded in the Calder Valley, West Yorkshire, North Defence has excelled in recent years, by going over and above the call of duty with countless global defence contracts. Last year, North Defence set up a new headquarters in Luxembourg following considerable growth amongst EU-based military units.

North Defence has built its reputation on front-line feedback. Its MkII LMV was developed from operational lessons in Ukraine, where the company’s vehicles are in active service. Deliveries are now underway into the EU and Ukraine, with production running from both Luxembourg and West Yorkshire.

Founder and CEO, Oliver North, a former Royal Engineer, spoke about his company’s continued charge and ambition.

“We started the hunt for an additional production facility 12 months ago, to increase our capacity here in the UK, particularly with the upcoming British Army requirement on the horizon.

“Simply put, we are demonstrating that we are ready, as opposed to marketing the fact that we could be. We’re walking the talk in terms of genuine world-class LMV production.

“The new space is vast and will provide much-needed employment opportunities to the region.

“Since leaving the British Army in 2004, I’ve used the work ethic, integrity and discipline it taught me at the heart of how we operate, with the added modules of modern, sophisticated business and manufacturing acumen that I’ve learned since starting on my own in 2008.”

North Defence has also added genuine firepower to its ranks in the past twelve months, with some of the automotive and defence industry’s most prolific operators joining the team.

Chief Technical Officer Luke Homewood commented on the new facility and continued growth.

“As soon as I met Oliver and discussed the vision, I knew I’d found a company that matched my ambition and work ethic. Every week, we take strides forward in production efficiency and technological evolution. Ambition and desire to be the industry’s best is present in every layer of the company.

“Our new UK home in Elland will act as the perfect stage for the British market, and whilst we increase in-country capacity in the UK, our Luxembourg team continues our charge in Europe with some of the most exciting projects from a tech perspective that I’ve been involved in throughout my career.”

North Defence continues to deliver Military light mobility vehicles, globally, each week from UK and Luxembourg and will announce new project completions and developments in the coming weeks. For all enquiries, please contact hello@north-defence.com
