Following a hugely successful phase of front-line operational use of the North Defence light mobility vehicle (LMV), the company has showcased the second generation LMV, built on Ford Ranger chassis, with over 130 units now in build for immediate deployment in Europe and Ukraine.

The North Defence team engineered and built the first LMVs at the start of 2025 with vehicles supplied onto the front line in Ukraine, as well as various NATO member organisations. From front-line feedback and operational data, including information of the vehicles working hand-in-hand with the latest military hardware – the Gen1 LMV has proven itself as a hugely capable tool when used for stealth, speed and efficiency. The Gen2 LMV has now been launched with new technological features that continue to raise the bar.
Founder and CEO explained of the new range: “The speed of engineered evolution of LMV MKII precisely matches the speed and agility of the vehicle concept itself. With a plethora of former Army engineers and soldiers within the team, alongside our tech-driven automotive engineers, the collective result provides what I feel is the most capable tool in its category.
“Simply put, operational demands for the LMV concept must provide the soldiers within, with more capability than the adversary. It makes our desire to be the best in our field, all the more essential.

“The first LMV MKII vehicles have been built onto Ford Ranger chassis’ which are subsequently overhauled with new suspensions, wheels, ballistically protected tyres, software, independant power, and stealth functionality, alongside comprehensive military functionality, specific to the unit operating. This year will see a 6×6 iteration and a Land Cruiser chassis option too, making us an obvious choice for upcoming requirements within NATO member state militaries.”
With both durable strength and technological innovation, the North Defence vehicles are quickly becoming best-in-category. And with increasing manufacturing footprints in both Steinsel, Luxembourg, and West Yorkshire, England, North Defence is spreading its presence where it is required.
Oliver North added, “The Defence industry is under huge pressure to meet capacity requirements across all aspects of heavy, medium and light vehicles. Our concentrated strength in the light military vehicle space ensures we can remain agile, fast and to the highest quality, to meet the targets of readiness required.
“LMV MKII represents us perfectly – in terms of quality at speed – and we will only continue to get faster to meet the production challenges given to us.”
