North Defence LMVs handed over to Ukrainian special forces

An undisclosed quantity of North Defence LMVs and GSVs were handed over to the Ukrainian GUR Special Forces recently as part of North Defence’s contribution of the Luxembourg Directorate of Defence’s support for Ukraine.

Ukrainian GUR Special Forces are the elite operational units of the main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence.

The North Defence light mobility vehicles (LMVs) and General Service Vehicles (GSVs) were developed and evolved following 4 years in partnership with Luxembourg DoD’s support of Ukraine, utilising North Defence’s capability of high-quality, robust and technologically advanced defence vehicle production.

Following production and commencement of the delivery of over 200 LMVs and GSVs, North Defence’s founder and CEO, Oliver North, spent time with the GUR to gain a deeper understanding of operational techniques and uses of the vehicles to refine and evolve every element produced for modern battlefield requirements,  including familiarisation with GUR’s modern weaponry and techniques.

Mr North commented, following his visit: “North Defence’s light mobility vehicles have proven themselves highly effective in Ukraine. Being here frequently to get into the heads of the guys that operate our LMVs on the modern battlefield enables us to continually refine and optimise them in-line with ever evolving battlefield techniques.

“The unit using our vehicles – backed incredibly by the unwavering support of Luxembourg’s Directorate of Defence – has, I believe, some of the best military operators in the world at the moment. It’s always fascinating spending time with them to see how they work.”

State Emergency Service Panther handover

Following a week with GUR, Oliver North had the pleasure of handing over the first 2 of 3 refurbished major firefighting appliances to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SESU) alongside the Ukrainian Firefighters Foundation.

Designed and originally manufactured for airfields, the Panther air crash trucks have been deployed to deal with daily major incidents from constant drone and missile attacks.

Oliver North said of the delivery into SESU: “The State Emergency Service of Ukraine continue to demonstrate the incredible and heroic things that a civil defence organisation can achieve when rapid adaptation and evolution is required.

“Our work with the Ukrainian Firefighters Foundation over the past 3 years has supported SESU significantly, and the delivery of Luxembourg DoD’s ARFF project further enhances their ability to deal with newly emerging threats.”
